Welcome from the Admissions Office of Pomona Catholic High School
We are excited about your interest in Pomona Catholic and we hope to give you a full insight to the endless opportunities that are available to you when you become a member of our PC Family. We have educated young women for over 111 years, which is a symbol of our commitment to Catholic Education. We are proud to hold a rich history of traditions that has served generation after generation.
At Pomona Catholic we believe that when you "Educate a Women…you educate a Generation." We foster the development of the whole person, stressing academic excellence, personal integrity, and sensitivity to others in their spiritual journey. We strive to educate young women to be both proficient and Christ-centered, prepared for any future educational situation.

ADMISSION POLICY
Pomona Catholic High School in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, mindful of its mission to be a witness to the love of Christ for all, admits students of all race, color, and national and/or ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs and activities generally accorded or made available to students at this school. This Catholic Secondary School of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, and national and/or ethnic origin in the administration of educational policies, scholarships, and loan programs, and athletic and other school administered programs.
Pomona Catholic High School does not discriminate against any applicant for employment on the basis of sex, age, disability, race, color, national and/or ethnic origin. Pomona Catholic DOES NOT admit or retain on enrollment, married students.
Application Process: Incoming Freshmen Class
Parents of students interested in attending Pomona Catholic High School can request an application online or by visiting the Admissions Office in person. The application process requires the following:
  • Completion of Application with $65 non-refundable fee
  • Two Letters of Recommendation
  • 8th grade report card and/or transcript
  • Student/Parent Interview with PCHS Administration
  • Completion of High School Placement Exam


Entrance Exam:  Saturday, January 22, 2011  8am-12pm

HEALTH RECORDS

  Required Immunizations include:
  • DPT (Diptheria, Pertussis, Tetanus) and boosters
  • 3 Polio shots and boosters
  • 2 MMR’s
  • Hepatitis B
  • uberculin test (PPD)
No student will be accepted to Pomona Catholic without the required immunizations.  The State Department of Health, with Senate Bill 942, has made it mandatory that every student show documentation of required immunization before admission to classes.

All students must provide CURRENT EMERGENCY (parents’ current work number) & MEDICAL INFORMATION.  Failure to provide this information by the first day of school may result in non-admittance until information is received.


MARRIED STUDENT POLICY

Central to the philosophy of Pomona Catholic High School is the belief that parents are the primary educators of their children.  In support of this, the school and parents work in close collaboration in all aspects of the student’s educational process.  Since a married student is in effect no longer accountable to a parent or guardian, the relationship between the school and the parents is compromised.  Therefore, any student who marries will not be allowed to attend Pomona Catholic High School


POLICY ON STUDENTS NO LONGER LIVING WITH PARENTS/GUARDIANS

Central to the philosophy of Pomona Catholic High School is the belief that parents are the primary educators of their children.  In support of this, the school and the parents work in close collaboration in all aspects of the student’s educational process.  A student not living in the home of a parent or guardian may not be allowed to attend Pomona Catholic High School.


EMANCIPATED OR EIGHTEEN YEAR OLD STUDENTS

All school regulations apply to students who are emancipated or eighteen years of age as long as they are enrolled in the school.
